As a company that makes many of its own products using 3D printers, we have enormous flexibility regarding re-stocking our e-stim electrodes.
We are not tied down to lengthy (for the most part) supply chains, so we can rapidly switch focus on what we make and when.
To that end, we offer some of our more complex electrodes and products as pre-order items.
What does pre-order or made-to-order mean?
Well, in most parts, it's made to order rather than pre-orders.
Some of our more complicated electrodes take a long time to make, but they fly off the shelves as fast as we can make them.
So, we offer these products as made-to-order items. You order them, and we promptly make and ship them to you.
We can make and ship ABS products in under three working days and beat that timeframe for PLA-based products.
There are occasional overruns, but generally, that is the timescale you are looking at for made-to-order products.
So, if you see a product listed as "made to order," it will take us three working days to dispatch it.
Pre-orders are slightly different. If stock is on its way or a new product is about to hit the shelves, we sometimes offer pre-orders.
If you place an order for a pre-order product, you are reserving one for yourself. It will be shipped as soon as we have it in stock.
We sometimes offer pre-orders on things like our stainless steel glans electrodes, as we don't manufacture those internally. However, once a new batch is on its way to us, we open it up for pre-orders so customers can reserve some of the latest stock before it arrives.
Summary
Per-orders and having some products as made-to-order benefits our customer base. It means you can reserve popular products without losing out in the scramble to grab something when it comes back into stock again.
It helps us continue offering popular but demanding products to our customers and informs us about where to focus our production efforts.
If pre-orders and waiting for something to be made for you is not your thing, you can always use the "e-mail me when available" feature on product pages. The shop will then send you an e-mail when the products you are interested in are again back in stock.
