Inline ABS Gas Mask Restrictor
After an epiphany, I realised that the perfect gas mask restrictor needed to fulfil a number of criteria. Having spent a couple of years designing both basic gas mask restrictors and adjustable restrictors that also act as sniff boxes, I have taken my first design and improved it significantly.
So why would you want to use one of these restrictors over just a basic one? Well, here is a list of features that I am sure will agree with you:
I wanted to design a breath play gas mask restrictor that fulfiled these criteria:
- The restrictor should be made from ABS so that it can be vapour smoothed to seal its surfaces.
- It should feature a NATO40 thread to make it compatible with the biggest range of respirators.
- It should be adjustable, with a range of sizes for the breathing orifice so that the restriction can be tuned to your play style.
- It should be able to be fitted directly to a gas mask to work on its own or to be fitted inline with a gas mask hose allowing it to slot into an existing breath play rig to add functionality.
This design ticks all of these criteria.
The restrictor comes with three restrictor plates that can be quickly swapped out mid-play. These provide 3.5mm, 4.75mm and 6mm apertures, so you can alter the breath restriction.
Swapping them out is as simple as unscrewing the plate retaining screw and swapping out the restrictor plate.
If you remove the plate retaining screw, then you can fit a gas mask hose to this restrictor, allowing you to add breathing restriction to any hose in your rig quickly.
This set consists of:
1 x Restrictor Body.
1 x Plate Retaining Screw.
1 x 3.5mm Restrictor Plate.
1 x 4.75mm Restrictor Plate.
1 x 6mm Restirctor Plate.
